About Us

SolvEnterprises, LLC, is a design consultancy. We have experience and expertise in a broad range of design functions: graphic design, systems and processes, and database development.

Our specialty is designing FileMaker solutions. Everyone has to keep track of a tremendous amount of information to successfully operate a business. This involves everything from keeping track of clients and their contact information, to maintaining inventory, to managing the production of an order, to invoicing the client for the work provided. No matter what type of business you are in-from pet groomer to plastics engineer-we can create a customized software solution that will make doing business easier for you and your staff.

Solvent also operates under the name CharisMedia and Savior Faire. CharisMedia focuses on graphic design with a specaily in enewsletters, presentations, corporate identity and web design.

Our Process

Although every creative project is unique, there are a few design phases that are common to most.

Initial Proposal

We will meet with you to explore your specific needs, covering the who, what, where, when, why, and how of your project. Then we'll develop a written proposal that will include a rough estimate of our design fees and other expenses we expect to incur.

Analysis Phase

If the proposal meets with your approval, we will begin working with you to draft a more in-depth outline for designing your solution. For most clients, this will begin with a business process statement, which is a narrative that describes our joint understanding of your business. From this we will develop a comprehensive development plan including, but not limited to, layout mockups, feature lists, report lists, a schedule of incremental release dates, and a final cost analysis. Once this is approved we will begin work on your project.

Development Phase

Each development phase happens in four stages: Initial Development, Training & Testing, Final Development, and Rollout.

The Partners

Solvent is a partnership venture for husband-and-wife design duo Sean and Carolyn Walsh and business partner Scott Howard. Between them, they bring over 45 years of design experience to every project.

Carolyn's background is primarily in print media production. Her strengths are written communication, concept development, and project management.

Scott has over 15 years of FileMaker development under his belt. He is the founder of Birmingham FileMaker Developer's Group and has developed solutions for the National Guard, the United States Eye Injury Registry, Saks/Parisian, Stanley, Inc.

Sean is the computer genius. He is a gifted database developer, outside-the-box thinker, and problem-solver.

Together, they are devoted to the incredibly satisfying process of solving problems with great design. They love to "sneeze" about cool new stuff, and spread idea viruses like crazy.
